Blogger Small Group on Romans and You're Invited

If you are looking for the Small Blogger Group on Romans you found the right place. I am hosting the group this week while a few are away tending to other duties, so please be in prayer for Kyle, Brian, and Heath, as they take a break this week.

This Week with Consuming Worship, Romans 4

This weeks Small Group in partnership with Consuming Worship we start Romans chapter four [4] all verses. (Side Note: If you haven’t read Romans chapter four [4], but want to participate. Read it now and write about it. Any input is better than no input. Everyone is welcome.) [Mr. Linky is at the bottom]

If you’re new and not sure what to do, below I have posted the instructions to the group. Take the time to read them, it will help make this group much easier for you. INSTRUCTIONS

Small Blogger Group – Damascus Style

This week I am going to do the Mr Linky slightly different than Vagabondrunn. I have posted it right here on the page, so all you need to do is post the link to your study entry right here, and we should all be able to see the links for the other entries as well.

If you have any questions at all please just send me a quick email or twitter and I will get right back with you. I am going to post my own entry on a different blog post, so go ahead and leave your links here.

What Blogs Do You Read and Why?

Google Feed RSS Reader Stats

I started looking through my list of blog rss feeds that I read, specifically in the area of faith blogs. I was trying to move things around a bit, as I often do with my feeds. I have around 400 active blog feeds that I go through on my reader, but I have them all sectioned out into genres or topics.

Do you separate out your blogs according to topic or do you even know what blogs you are subscribed to? I have a set of blogs I deemed “believer blogs” that I have pulled aside and I thought I would give out a little link luv to those I read today. The list below is a sample of the feeds I subscribe to in the area of faith or Believer blogs. I am sure there are probably a few on the list below you haven’t read before and there are several that are just fantastic blogs to read.

Bloggers Also Shape Who We Are Now

So why this blog and why now? Well, I realized when reading all the posts from the Blogger Small Group post yesterday that we are all shaped by those we interact with, right? So, does that mean we are shaped by the blogs we are as well, probably.

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:16-18 (in Context) Proverbs 27 (Whole Chapter)

The area of Christian bloggers is huge and growing. As more pastors from different parts of the world start to pick up on blogging we can all benefit (see Why Should Pastors Blog?, a great look at the topic). It gives them a way to expand on their limited 17 minute message on Sunday morning and we get the chance to discover churches and people we never could before. This is of course more than just an outlet for pastors so jump right in and start blogging.

Alphabetical List of Faith Based Blogs

My faith based list of bloggers is also on my public feed reader pages so you can see a running chronological list of posts by the blogs below on my public feed. This is a live real time list, not static.

Ten Most Recent Posts From Above

Here is a little taste of the last 10 posts from the list above. I can’t say that I have read them all word for word but I have at least skimmed over the subject matter. Some great posts guys, keep up the good work.

Who Did I Miss?

I know this is not a comprehensive list, but these are the blogs that are in my feed reader. What are some of the blogs you read that are not on my list? Please jump in and leave a comment below, there is always room for one more.

What about Proverbs 27:17, do you think we are shaped by what we read, by what blogs we read?

Top 10 Stars of the Week, April 28

I am going to try to get back to doing this post once a week like I use to do, but for now, here is the latest version of this past weeks starred items from my Google Reader. A complete list is shown on the sidebar to the far right, but these are some posts from the previous week that caught my eye.

It is really amazing how many quality blogs there are now. I now have 686 feeds in my reader. Yes, not all are quite the premium material, but with so many good articles to choose from it is hard to narrow it down to 10, but, here they are.
