My mother-in-law used to keep this notebook (which I now have) of clippings and tear-outs of poems and cliché sayings. She used to find from all over the place, almost all of them have no names associated with them, only a few have a way to actually find their original source, but most of them are quite uplifting and humorous. This is the poem I found in her stash this morning from an unknown author. A title that first came to mind was Dazed and Confused but I think Led Zeppelin has that one covered. The author titled this poem “A Little Mixed Up”.
A Little Mixed Up
Just a line to say I’m living
That I’m not among the dead,
Tho’ I’m getting more forgetful
And more mixed up in the head. For sometimes I can’t remember,
Where I stand at the foot of the stair
If I must go up for something
Or – if I’ve just come down from thereAnd, before the frig’ – so often
My poor mind is filled with doubt.
Have I just put the food away, or
Have I come to take some out? And, then there’s times when it is dark out,
With my night cap on my head
I don’t know if I’m retiring —
Or – just getting out of bed.So, if it’s my turn to write you
There’s no need in getting sore,
I may think that I have already written
And don’t want to be a bore.So – remember that I do love you,
And – I wish that you were here.
And – now it’s nearly mail-time
So – I must say, “Good-bye m’dear”.There I stood beside the mail-box
With a face so very red.
Instead of mailing you my letter
I had opened it – instead!!

I love this quoted poem below. You probably won’t appreciate it unless you are a ham radio operator or understand the language but if you do, it’s quite something.
In the Beginning, ARPA created the ARPANET.
And the ARPANET was without form and void.
And darkness was upon the deep.
And the spirit of ARPA moved upon the face of the network
and ARPA said, ‘Let there be a protocol,’ and there was a protocol.
And ARPA saw that it was good.
And ARPA said, ‘Let there be more protocols,’ and it was so.
And ARPA saw that it was good.
And ARPA said, ‘Let there be more networks,’ and it was so.

Every so often I try to add in a little quote or quip posted in sidenotes. Usually a short piece that I get out of my mother-in-laws newspaper clippings she gave me. Funny how different people collect different things, papers, notes, and so on, most all of these I have never seem before and are going through them one at a time every so often.
Today I came across one called In the Beginning and it actually had a note at the bottom for its source and I was able to located it. This was something she printed off her computer in 2005, and of course it is still active on the Internet today, so I am not going to post but a blurb of it here, but it is well work a read if you want to head over Bag-o-Laughs’ post called In the Beginning.
I love humor websites about our faith, Christians, God, and mix computer related stuff in there and it’s super (another good one is John over at Stuff Christians Like). So here is the first part of In the Beginning:
In the beginning there was the computer. And God said
%Let there be light!
#Enter user id.
%God
#Enter password.
%Omniscient
#Password incorrect. Try again.
%Omnipotent
#Password incorrect. Try again.
%Technocrat
#And God logged on at 12:01:00 AM, Sunday, March 1.
%Let there be light!
#Unrecognizable command. Try again.
%Create light
#Done
%Run heaven and earth
#And God created Day and Night. And God saw there were 0 errors.
#And God logged off at 12:02:00 AM, Sunday, March 1.
If you are any bit of the computer person, jump over and read the rest of it from the source, and if the above makes no sense to you at all then you are too young to remember when IBM ran the world and everything was written out in commands (I am on the fringe of that time period I think). So what are some of your favorite God humor sites? Post a few below so we can check them out.

Deb loves to point out all the niceties about living with a south paw (and there are many). She clipped this graph out of the USA Today more than 10 years ago and I just found it going through some of my old photos this past weekend.
Once again I am shown what a right handed world we live in. Everything from increased cancer risk to playing in sports, we are more likely to be doomed from birth. Yes, even scripture talks about us left handed people, but the Bible calls us out more as the privileged ones (haha).
- Judges 3:15
Again the Israelites cried out to the LORD, and he gave them a deliverer—Ehud, a left-handed man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.
Judges 3:14-16 (in Context) Judges 3 (Whole Chapter)- Judges 20:16
Among all these soldiers there were seven hundred chosen men who were left-handed, each of whom could sling a stone at a hair and not miss. Judges 20:15-17 (in Context) Judges 20 (Whole Chapter)
Although I can’t imagine 700 left handed people chosen at one place to do anything, but must have been a heck of a party.

I rarely ever post an image on this blog that is not mine, but in this case I had to make an exception. Some nice person thought I needed a laugh today and sent this set of church signs over to me. I can’t even begin to address the issues involved here and just had to laugh. I don’t know whether this is pathetic or hilarious, anyone care to voice an opinion? I do know a very predominant church in our area that has a blessing each year for pets, and many people bring their pets up to the church to be blessed and prayed over by the senior pastor.
Apparently these two churches are across the road from each other on some busy street, go figure. Don’t think I have ever seen two churches go at each other like this via signage, I just had to laugh. To see these crazy interesting church signs just click the continue link below. I couldn’t bare to post the images on the front page of my blog sorry.
Dueling Church Signs
Update
It has been pointed out by someone far more observant than myself that these photos were photoshopped in some manner (obvious from the background of the Catholic church site). Just one more reason I don’t usually post any photos that don’t come right out of my own camera, so take them for what their worth above. My appologies for not seeing this upfront, I will certainly not use that particular source again.

This is my post for Creative Chaos // 22 (see also guidelines) over at Ragamuffin Soul for this week. I have skipped a few weeks for this post but wanted to pick it back up again, there are always so many great ways people worship, and this is one was so good, our church played it at least twice in one series.
There’s Something About Benjamin Video
This video has been floating around the internet for a while now but I still find not everyone runs in the same Internet circles, so this video call There’s Something About Benjamin is a hilarious look at how money controls us, and how we tend to work for it instead of the other way around.
If you haven’t seen the video before, it is not to long, but will get you rolling on the floor. I think I have watched it probably 5-10 times now and I get a kick out of it each time, and this week it is my post for creative chaos.
