A New Cleaner Design to Display Extra Large Photos

One of the things I probably dis-like the most about blogs is having to clean house, but, this weekend I went through the tedious process of implementing a new design, updating all the categories for each post, and changing some previous posts to display the full size images this design will accommodate.  I really think that much of the details in photography is lost in viewing small images, so, for those still on dial-up, I apologize now.  From this point forward I will be displaying my images on up to 900px wide in some cases, like the image below of Lake City lake in Colorado (although I will try to keep the file size as small as possible).

I have never used a design without a sidebar but I like the clean look for photography purposes.  All the most recent and popular posts are now located in the footer section and the comments are inline so you can view and leave comments without having to enter the entire original post.  If you have any comments or suggestions I would love to hear them below.  Coming up I will post some images on Auburn’s first football game of the season against Louisiana Monroe.  Happy Labor Day to everyone.

Learning Some New Code, Stylesheets, Themes and Design

I neglected by blog posts this weekend and instead opted for a new design, look, or fell, or whatever. I was trying to consolidate some older pages, and make it a little easier to get around the information I have posted already.  I am still putting the finishing touches on some of the graphics but you get the idea now. I would love to hear what you think about the new design, what can be improved or changed. This is a busy week coming up, our new study over at the Damascus blog is starting in Romans and will be posted on Tuesday.

Learning to Use a Stylesheet and PHP

Over time I have had to learn how to use a CSS or Stylesheet and some basic PHP.  As I have leaned more and more code I have found a bit of freedom to be able to change and adjust things to be exactly the way I want them to be, and in the process be able to mess things up as well.  I would really recommend learning as much code as you possibly can, over time, it will be invalueble to you since everything runs on code.
